35 Years of Marriage to this dear man!Who would have thought that after meeting this handsome man in the Marketing Department at Xerox Corporation 35 years and 5 months ago we would still be sharing our ideas, thoughts, dreams and concerns? With 1 Corinthians 13 as our guide and the mercy of God, we have the treasure of nine children and eleven grandchildren. What a heritage!
Our dear children all pitched in and sent us away to the Marriott Hotel in gorgeous Monterey for this special weekend in early December! Of course, first things first, we grabbed some piping hot java and headed to the coast with huge smiles on our faces! Esther, with her Marriott "contacts" booked us a tremendous room and we collapsed on the huge bed enjoying the quiet and orderliness of the surroundings!
The hotel was elaborately decorated for Christmas and had a Starbucks next door which made it just about perfect! Early morning before sunrise, we climbed out onto a flat deck of the hotel viewing the golden lights twinkling on the bay, with the red and green steady line of lights shining on the streets. It was a Christmas spectacular! Then as the sun rose with an amazing display of hues, we were awestruck with the beauty and serenity of the early morning. Surely, there is a Creator.
Sunny and mild, the weather was perfect for romping outside and we were overjoyed at experiencing the Pacific Ocean in its full magnificence. We spent the weekend trekking on the beach, eating at quaint local restaurants, and treasuring being together!
Thanks, kiddos, it was a kind and generous gift from you all whom we love so much!
